SFO-MEX United flight makes emergency landing at LAX due to hydraulic failure: officials
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A United Airlines jet headed to Mexico City from San Francisco on Friday made an emergency landing in Los Angeles due to an issue with the aircraft's hydraulic system, officials said.United says flight 821 landed safely and passengers were deplaned normally at the gate.
Passengers will continue their trip to Mexico City on a new flight scheduled to depart soon.

An eyewitness is describing what he saw after a tire fell from a United Flight that had just taken off at San Francisco International Airport.
The aircraft had 105 passengers and five crew members on board.
United says airbus 320 has three hydraulic systems for redundancy purposes. They say a preliminary information shows there was an issue with one system on the aircraft.
This is the fourth incident involving a United jet this week -- a plane skidded off a runway in Houston this morning and on Thursday, a wheel came off a plane above SFO. And on Monday, flames shot from the engine of a plane over Texas.
