The overall answer is obvious, but in particular I wanna point out...Wade was not a better defender than Kobe for their careers... Kobe's defense slipped toward the back end of his career, but in typical Kobe hater form that's somehow been morhped into him always being trash....to the point we got people saying Wade was better on that end despite Kobe having like 12-13 all defense selections to Wade's 3...and spare me the bullshyt bout Kobes all defense selections somehow being singularly undeserved unlike any other player in history like the antibean cult likes to do

Most of Kobe's All-Defensive team selection are undeserved. Don't say spare the B.S., the man was making All-Defensive teams in seasons like '06 where he wasn't an elite defender and couldn't be because of a massive offensive burden. He looked the part and didn't have much competition at the time. Phil Jackson himself dragged Kobe's defense in his book and the metrics don't point toward him being an elite defender for many of his All-Defensive team selection. He was an elite defender primarily during the first 3-Peat. He is the Derek Jeter of basketball, Jeter looked the part and had flashy plays but had trash range overall yet still won Gold Gloves.

D-Wade was clearly a better help defender and was an overall more impactful defender in his prime. An engaged Kobe had more height/length at 6'6 and was more tenacious on the ball that's all I'd say.

fukk All-Defensive team selections and those subjective accolades voted on by writers that shyt don't prove nothing. Shawn Marion never made an All-Defensive team and Matrix was a better defender than Wade and Kobe.

Wade was great from 05-11 but he was injured in 07 and 08 so that really only gives him 5 great years. While I would give Kobe 9 great years.

And than y’all wanna bring up peaks and shyt when the poll says who’s greater all time not peaks and even than I wouldn’t rate Wade’s peak much higher than Bryant’s.
