The Coli is starting to get so ignorant with music around the board, it's ridiculous.
Hardly anyone can really tell you what an industry plant is... and just don't realize that hip-hop has totally changed.
Half these artists started from underground... but trust me, they didn't get out of their own city (being that each major city has at least 1000 rappers in it a piece) without someone connected in the industry pulling them out and putting them on the road to do shows. Either that or they were rich or had a major investor to start with.
The days of true organic music is done because labels can't take the chance of an indie artist making tons of money and not getting their hands on it. Trust me, most of the indie artists you hear about got a major label manager, distributor, or team. Or just signing to the major straight up if they're stupid.
Not to mention that 90% of these rappers aren't even writing their own music. Everything from production to the actual lyrics got teams of people editing and revising the hell out of it. Most of these mainstream rappers are Beyonce and Katy Perry status with the writers but that wouldn't make for a very good image in hip-hop lol.
Keep believing these rappers pulled themselves out of pools of thousands based only on hard work and talent.
