For the religious people, it's a go to phrase for them to offer up "thoughts and prayers" to the victims of these horrific events like mass shootings and what not. What is the point? Do you believe your prayers are actually doing anything?

What does the Christian god do when these events occur? How does he watch children get gunned down and do nothing but hide behind the broken "free will" argument his followers continually regurgitate in his defense? If he is real, how can he sit idly by and do nothing?

Thoughts and prayers are as guilty as the people who commit these atrocities because it allows the majority of you whom are religious to hide behind the shield of your powerless religions and delude yourselves into thinking that prayers are a legitimate course of action against tangible, REAL threats that we face every day. Your thoughts and prayers aren't doing shyt, they never have done shyt and they never will do shyt. You epitomize what it means to be docile.

I have spent the last 2.5 hours communicating via email with my childrens daycare teachers going over protocol for potential mass shooters at their school; trying to offer enhancements and/or means to better secure the school and the audacity of this woman to say in the event of a potential shooter we can just "hope and pray that god will shield us if anything like that were to happen" has me fuming.

Bytch there are parents all over the planet whom "hope and pray" every morning for their kids safety only to have their prayers thrown back in their faces when their child returns home in a fukking body bag. What good was prayer then? Did god just say "not today bytch fukk them kids".

Stop hiding behind your powerless gods. True power lies within your own hands. Use them for once. What a fukking travesty this country is. Religion, Blood and Guns. The true holy trinity of America.

What do you think the families of the children who were killed want to hear? Because the shooter is dead. There's no get back. What exactly do you tell someone who outlived their children other than being there for them with thoughts and prayer? We are powerless in most situations. It isn't about god or religion, it's about compassion.
