For me it's a tough call between the 70s and 80s.
The 70s were full of innovation and top quality soul, funk, and R&B: Earth Wind and Fire, Marvin Gaye, Maze ft. Frankie Beverly, Stevie Wonder, P-Funk, Sly and the Family Stone, Mandrill, and so much more.![ahh :ahh: :ahh:](https://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/ahh4.png)
But the 80s gave us Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, prime Luther Vandross, Morris Day & the Time, and New Edition on top of Prince and MJ blessing us with Purple Rain and Thriller, respectively![wow :wow: :wow:](https://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/wow.png)
EDIT: Zapp and Roger![blessed :blessed: :blessed:](https://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/rejoice.png)
