9th's is one of my favorite beats of all time. So I'm going with him.

beats are supposed to be repetitive so in that they dont outshine the mc or singer on it. I have been on a lot of forums reading reviews about beat competitions and people saying that beats are too repetitive, but in reality your favorite hip hop songs of all time have repetitive instrumentals that let the rapper shine. You don't want a beat changng every 2 bars. The standard is the 4 or the 8

Actually, now that you mention it, Dilla's is a much better beat to rap over. There's a difference between a beat used for battles and one used for songs. The most important instrument is the MC's voice. But when you battle you have to have more switchups to keep the audience interested. Some of my best battle beats were beats I could never get someone to rap over.

Love both, but I prefer Dilla's. It's hypnotic and has that precise bounce to it.
