But nelly had 2 massive albums, 2 big albums, 2 small albums, and by album 7 a huge flop
50 cent had 2 massive albums, a big album, a small album, and by just album 5 a huge flop
DMX had 5 big albums, a small album, and by album 7 a huge flop

On the other hand Jay-Z has 12 platinum+ albums through 3 different decades...

What separates the god mc from these other rappers who came and went?

I don't think people realize what's going on behind the scenes with Jay-Z. Do you HONESTLY think it is a coincidence that he dropped his friends, rose to the top of the game, became a mogul, reimaged himself, married the hottest chick and STILL sells records? HONESTLY, do you think he just made this all happen because he's just that smart? THE DUDE IS MADE. What he had to do to get made, I don't know. Why do you think he is distancing himself from Kanye? Because Kanye is putting himself in danger with his mouth...his conscious is getting to him and Jay don't want nothing to do with that...because he knows what that means. Ask Micheal Jackson, Pimp C and Whitney Houston. He is like the Obama of Hip Hop...if you understand what that means.....

He knows when to fall back, when to step up and what to capitalize on to make himself bigger than he is. And thats riding coattails of whats hot, run it into the ground, then jump ship to the next hot movement. After he drops music go quiet for a few to not oversaturate.
