They're program was built on paying players and steroids. Like Oklahoma. The difference with Oklahoma is they are a lot closer to recruiting hotbeds in Texas.

Nebraska has to recruit nationally. Are they really going to go into other powerhouse's backyards and pull blue chips? Nah
That's why moving to the Big 10 was a terrible move .They tossed their recruting base in the bushes. In the Big 12 that big red N meant something. They could go into Texas ,Colorado and Missiouri and pull a couple kids...

Nobody in Chicago, Detroit or Cleveland gives a fukk about Nebraska:mjlol:

Imagine going into a philly kids home and talking about Nebraska's tradition when he got Penn State right down the street:mjlol:

Moving to the B1G hurt them.

Wisconsin got that division on lock

Iowa will always be a tough out.

Pick your poison in the East with Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, and Michigan.

Not only having to compete with them on the field but recruiting as well, and they hired Mike Riley who wasn’t exactly a homerun hire. Scott Frost should have them going in the right direction.

Lets be honest Nebraska football from a playbook and training mentality is still stuck in the 90's. Even their recruiting is old school. You're not gonna get kids picking them over Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan or Penn State. Hell kids would even pick Louisville. If they switch to a true zone scheme instead of simplified power blocking scheme and got some real athletes on the line, maybe start recruiting ex basketball players and track and field guys and make linemen out of them.

They left the Big 12 and thought shyt was going to be sweet in the Big 10

:mjlol::mjlol:

This.

Yeah, they were a Blue Blood program - but as the first post brought out, they lost their continuity by changing up too much chit in a relatively short period.

They didn't realize they weren't Texas with all that in-state talent. Now they gotta try to get the same recruits Iowa and Wisconsin want, but those teams don't suck. And they don't get the luxury of playing Kansas, Colorado, and Iowa State like they used to which used to be gimmies.

And the thing they used to be known for was having great line play on both sides...I don't know what happened to that, but it's gone.

Partial qualifiers is a big reason as well. They feasted off that on a weakish big 8 from 85-95. They actually recruited California pretty good I believe but now they pretty much have no recruiting base. Ohio recruits aren’t going to Lincoln.

They almost signed Lamar Jackson and that would have saved their program.
