Will we ever see another black female artist that actually looks like a black woman?

I've learned that Bob Marley isn't black
Malcolm X isn't black
If you're a man in the 50s, you would have been a c00n for marrying Kathleen Cleaver.
Fredikk Douglas isn't black
You're Sambo for not believe white magazines that lupita is one of the sexiest.

And you might as well retire your black card if you'd smash this woman.... despite her have a similar genetic african % as the average AA

You know her genetic make up how exactly? Purely from her looks? The average AA doesn't look anything like that. Cut it out.

I miss turning on the tv seeing Eryka Badu and Jill Scott.
:mjcry:

Its gotten pretty bad when the examples people are posting of black female artists all have straight hair and mohawks and shyt.

I remember meeting Brandy back when she had the braids with the baby hair :gladbron: then I saw her on a magazine like a year back and her shyt all permed and dyed. :scust:

Everytime I'm in line at a store I'll look around to see how many black women I can count with natural hair. Usually its none. Sometimes 1 :blessed:but only if there are like 10 there.

Very troubling times.
:wow:
Are we really sad

Because white people

No longer put certain types on magazines? :ohhh:

:dahell:So white people determine our beauty?

I see natural hair chocolate sisters every damn day:what:

Its sad that we are igorant of our history and diversity of the black man.

We didn't change shyt. We are who we are and africans in Africa are diverse. AAs with four black grandparents have on average 17% devil dna.. so have different looks.

We are who we have always been but we love western society and the media more than we love our people so we get sad when our oppressors dis us or misrepresent us....

That's what's sad

I disagree.

Ancestry is only the precursor to what anatomy will result. Once that lineage is established, your anatomy is decided. To try and alter it like straightening your hair is terrible. Likewise it also terrivle when white women attempt get ass injections and when asians have eye surgery.

You are talking about conditions and circustance that have led us here and our reaction to it culturally.
I am only talking about bucking against nature, for the most part.

Although there are historical and cultural significances to having natural hair, my biggest concern is always seeing man with the belief that he is more knowledgable than the universe at large.
Your hair is the way it is because thats how it is supposed to be.

lol, you sound like women who meet my sons.. They look at me like :mjpls: because of 'hair'
They don't really know that my sons are a higher % of african than most AA's .

Ancestry is a precursor , but when you're from the most genetically diverse group of people in the multiverse it should offend you when people try to narrow you down.

PEople alter who they are because they are brainwashed.
People care about the media of their oppressors because they are brainwashed.
People generalize black people because they are brainwashed.

You can't really blame Black men for propping up their careers or lining their pockets, when the only opinion we have on most of these female artists is "I'd Smash" :manny:

Pretending that the women that you posted is really representative of AA isn't black unity, it's the opposite & works to the detriment & exclusion of actual black women. You already know that.

.

Actually, no.

People alter themselves to increase their chances of success as they perceive the playing field to exist.
Steroids, metabolic drugs, surgeries, skin treatments, hair treatments. These things are all done to increase a persons odds of succedding in their field, whetere it be sports, dating, business, etc.
If a person believes that being stronger, faster, lighter, darker, taller, shorter, thinner, fatter or whatever will help them succeed in their chosen venture then there is a fraction of the population that will attempt to gain that advantage.

Because being lighter actually does have societal benifets they are not at all brainwashed (in this particular matter). They are correct in their assertion that being lighter or having straighter hair will reap benifets.
Thats why I didn't call them foolish. Just sad.

And I stand by that. It is sad whenever a person sacrafices integrety to achieve something.

Malcolm X isn't black

I'm one the few who are about black unity.

How ignorant can a person be to say only one type of black woman can rep black women in amierkka? What EXACT shade and features can rep black women?

Jesse Williams is still more popular than them.

Black women love Chris Brown and August Alsina both light skinned men
and we can't forget about them light skinned dudes on Empire :sas1:
:dahell:

You're really tryna say a dude on Greys Anatomy is more popular than Denzel,Idris?

Thx i know not to take anything you say seriously.

:mjpls:

well, I think that just means brainwashed.............. if you're black.... I don't think you should alter shyt just to fit in with Dominant society.

Are you justifying it ?:leostare:
