I felt that the premise was racist as well. Why did *our* story have to take place in fukking New Orleans or whatever? As though their weren't black kingdoms similar to the other movies they have done where the story could have taken place. Imagine if they did a take on Sundiata.But because this was the first time they have ever acknowledge blacks...actually placing the story in an African kingdom would have been too much. Our history is only in relation to slavery or the United States when it comes to fukking cacs.
