I miss that shyt so much. I'm sitting up here watching this music video by R.L called Good Man. I remember this video from my childhood back in 2002. It's one of my favorite love songs of all time. For those of you who don't know, R.L is the singer from the group Next and also the one who sang with Deborah Cox on the song We Can't Be Friends. Very underrated and unsung vocalist from the early 2000’s era.

This twist in this fukking video broke my heart the 1st time I watched it. :mjcry:

I miss the stories these songs and accompanying videos used to tell.

Yall remember Carl Thomas and I Wish?

Kelly Price As We Lay

Joe I Wanna Know

Donnell Jones Where I Wanna Be

I know we complain about the state of R&B these days but man the entire artform of the storytelling music video is extinct in the genre too. You really don't realize how good you have it until it's gone

Thread = Bring RKelly Byke

Chris Brown is still very creative with his music videos. Everyone else the past 10-15 years are focused on being a sex symbol, or simping to some broad(s)
For the most part the absolute simping does happen in mainstream R&B anymore.
