Both were the engine that ran their teams. For now I lean towards Nash but that is because I like pure PG more. You can easily make the argument for Rose and it would be understandable.

I voted Rose but this is trueSome of you all are really forgetting how nice Nash was in his prime....
They'd have zero chance against the Spurs. Rose would look worse than he did against the Heat.

A lot of people like to discredit Rose's MVP season, completely forgetting that Boozer missed a bunch of games at the beginning of the season, and Noah also missed a bunch of games. Rose is the reason the Bulls had the best record that season. He singlehandedly won games for them. The only players who started all 82 games for the Bulls that season was Keith Bogans and Luol Deng (Rose played 81).
I doubt Rose is stopping Parker. Rose has barely had to defend any good guards in the playoffs. In '09 Rondo averaged nearly a triple double that series. And in '11 Teague averaged 14 on 53%. So what will make a prime Parker do worse? rose isnt a stopper.derrick rose could actually defend tony parker though
when the suns traded for shaq it exposed the holes in nash's game. in the 2007-2008 playoffs vs the spurs when phoenix couldnt run a spread option:
tony parker averaged 30 points and 7 assists on 52% shooting
nash averaged 16 points and 8 assists on 46% shooting
compare that to nash's stats vs the spurs using a spread offense
put rose on a team with 4 other scoring threats and
rose
whats funny is that all the spurs did was spread the floor and run pick and rolls that series...you see the numbers parker put up. imagine what rose would do.
Ill take the player that plays defense and was more dynamic offensively without an offensive system in place to boost stats and offensive talent around him to boost them further

How did joe johnson and quentin richardson do in that offense? Theyre not streaky players though right?
And more of what im saying is that Nash would have done WORSE with the Bulls. Especially in comparison to Rose on the Suns. Maybe they both would have been worse...but Nash would fall off further. Don't you think the lack of Rose APG could be from LOOKING TO SCORE MORE? Because he had LESS OPTIONS? 2004-2005 Nash scored 900 less points than 2010-2011 Rose
And i think everyone is really forgetting how bad on defense Nash was/is. That wasn't just D'Antoni's system. He couldnt d up in general, anywhere. Gentry essentially kept D'Antoni's system on offense and Don Nelson in Dallas was pretty much just as run n gun as PHX. Those 2 coaches had the most offensive and fast paced systems out of all the coaches then for the most part.
