The change in commentary is an underrated aspect of Smackdown's fall off. Mauro was a great change from having to listen to Cole. Him, JBL, and Otunga were a dope trio. Then they brought in Tom Phillips. It was too much. Then the Mauro/JBL situation occurs. Eventuall JBL leaves. Saxton, Graves, and Phillips is nowhere near as good.

I think Phillips, Saxton, and Graves are still good. They have good chemistry due to being close in age and friends. They'll probably get better over time.

Mauro is missed, though. Especially since we only hear him on NXT now, where he has to carry Percy and Nigel week after week.
