Can AJ fight as well away from home territory?

How well can they market that fight in the states? Aside from boxing fans not many people know Wilder.

Who would be billed as THE champion in this fight?

Either way, here's hoping the biggest heavyweight fight gets made sooner rather than later, though Deontay has a serious test this Saturday facing the only man to take him the distance (though that was an Active Bermane)

Whoa..struggle is not the word to use for ike beating tua..esp since Tua was undefeated and dangerous at the time...ike wasn't supposed to win that fight and winning made him a player in the division ...dont trivialize that as a struggle ...that is a GOAT level heavyweight fight

I'd agree that Ike was definitely the best heavyweight prospect Nigeria ever produced and one of the top prospects when he was fighting, before the unfortunate incident. However, you'll know how great he would've been because Tua was his first real test and his knockout percentage wasn't that great. So to say he'll beat Josh is just wishful thinking. All the names people are throwing around including Mike Tyson never really beat any HOFer and they all had their flaws.

Ike looks like Takam - they're built the same way and their styles are very similar, albeit Takam has a better KO percentage. And Takam didn't even trouble Josh apart from the headbutt, despite Josh not even leaving the first gear. He just coasted through the fight and only punished him when he's pissed. It's also difficult when you're that tall and have to fight short for the first time against a formidable opponent. Takam also only lost to a Povetkin who was on PED and was robbed against Parker. So I doubt Ike would've a chance against Josh and the fight would've ended the way this one did.

Nostalgia just make people throw names around. But when you go back and watch videos - you'd see that all these people had their flaws as well. It's basically similar to how people always say Pernell Whitaker would beat Mayweather. But when you go back and watch Pernell you'd see that he got touched a lot of times despite being defensive juggernaut...something that never happened to Floyd. And he wasn't as accurate, even at his best, as Floyd was at his worst.

Bruv wind your neck in :mjlol:

Lol, he beat Vitali. Lennox Lewis was the GOAT heavyweight boxer of his era. The man smacked every American thrown into the lion's den with him, apart from that lucky punch by Rahman.

Josh is the new American nemesis. Bring the one trick pony, Wilder, and his wild amateurish punches and he would end up like Charles Martin and Dominic Breazeale. The guy doesn't even throw his punches from angles, he just throws wild punches. And he has zero jab and no head movement.

That fight won't be like the Takam fight with Josh respecting an older African and holding back. Fighting an American is different and I'm sure you saw how he was talking smack to Dominic Breazeale before their fight. UK vs. US is always different and there will be a lot of animosity and adrenaline in that fight and Josh is at his best when he's trying to prove a point.

Watch this press conference and see what an American will get - not the handshake and friendly gestures Takam got because he's African.

ike by 20th fight took the zeroes of both tua and chris byrd..which are still better than any notable victories than takam has now

as far as KO percentage goes

You make some good points about Nostalgia, but Tyson did beat Spinks and Holmes, two Hall of Famers.

And maybe Ibeabuchi does beat Joshua. Who knows.

Remember that Ibeabuchi also had a decent amateur career and I may be mistaken but I think he beat Duncan Dokiwari who had a respectable pro career will not a great one at all.

Does a prime David Tua beat Anthony Joshua? I think that's the better question to ask. And seeing how Joshua is not as defensive-minded as fellow Countryman Lennox Lewis, maybe he gets knocked out. Or maybe he wins a decision.

People said the same about Lennox Lewis till he beat Mike Tyson to a pulp, smacked Holyfield twice (though the first one was an American job and fictitiously ruled a draw), and whooped Vitali before retiring as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Tyson has suspect defence and he never fought past the fight 6 round. The man didn't even beat any top heavyweight boxer in his prime and the biggest name on his resume was a flabby, old, and sick Larry Holmes that didn't box for two years. And he also dodged Riddikk Bowe. Yes, Tyson was explosive and he was fun to watch but he wasn't invincible and he lost to all the top fighters he fought.

Wilder would be an easy fight. The man has no jab, zero angles, no head movement and he relies only on his big right, apart from throwing wild punches like an amateur. Once Josh takes his big right away - he's going to get punch drunk and throw in the towel.

Tyson would treat AJ the same way he did Bruno . Are you going to discredit Frank now as well ? :laff:

AJ would get washed in 5 rounds or less... besides a washed Klitchko who already got beat by Fury who else has ya boy fought ?

These guys are practically the same size and Wilder isn't as reserved as Klitchko. It will be a slugfest
but we all know Eddy Hearn is out here protecting his cash cow so this fight won't happen

Lay off the pilsner mate :mjlol:

Mandatories are called that for a reason SMH. If AJ doesn't fight his mandatories he gets stripped and the Beyonce Wilder fight doesn't happen at all, whats so hard to understand for some people. Wilder might hold belts hostage looking for money fights, don't expect everyone else to do the same:hubie:

Wait until 2018, then Wilder will get his payday in exchange for that belt he's been holding hostage for three years:mjgrin:

I’m saying ... if klitskco could knock down Joshua - Tyson by tko - I can’t even think of a game plan for Joshua especially with the absence of a jab.
A 19 year old tyson would eat Joshua’s breakfast lunch and dessert.

C'mon now, with Wilders resume of facing bum after bum, and ducking another bum in Whyte just a couple of weeks ago  you want to say AJ running? After 20 fights, let me remind you Wilder was still knee deep fighting taxi drivers and janitors. . .while we selling out stadiums . .

Parker, Wilder and Fury getting it in 2018 :blessed:
