They can shoot me a text or visit.I don't even like the social scene here either really because its just fake/scared people trying to put on for other fake/scared people. Half the city feels like its propped up on imposter syndrome...
But its ridiculous out here to the point where its obviously not sustainable. It was bad *before* Covid hit. Costs were already going through the roof. But once the evictions took off leading to a second warp of the housing situation? They're going to price out the middle class. And while yeah that sucks by itself, DC can't function well in many aspects without those people being able to get to work comfortably. Its causing all kinds of issues.
Honestly I'm fortunate that I can think about most of this without having to consider how I'll support kids or family. If I did? I'd have packed it up last year.
Why did you move back if your house is paid off in Louisiana?
Are you renting out the pad in Louisiana?
I always divide what ever salary by 26 since it’s 52 weeks in a year.I could be tripping because it’s early, but how are you being taxed damn near 40 percent? 100k divided by 12 is 8,333. How are you being taxed 3000 a month to end up with 5200?
Ugh.. couldn't imagine itGo live in New Carrollton/Lanham. The commute is very quick.
My first job in NYC was little more than150k and I was paid bi-weekly and I’m pretty sure it like 3500 every two weeks or something. I don’t remember now. But it definitely was over 30 percent gone to taxes and then add in 401 deductions.I could be tripping because it’s early, but how are you being taxed damn near 40 percent? 100k divided by 12 is 8,333. No you don’t….Holla at NACA my friendI live in College Park, MD near the University of Maryland, and make between 70-80k.
Ive been saving for a house and its brutal out here.
I need like 30k more in cash to even get a townhouse that I like.
But every metro area in the country is going through it right now. Its no longer just the major cities on the coasts.
Not like here. Don't fall into that trap.I live in College Park, MD near the University of Maryland, and make between 70-80k.

You aint lying, it seems so phony here, like one big costume party. And there is an undertone of fear.
