Downtown LA on my way onto the freeway and next thing I know just hearing MJ music playing and people on the streets shaking their head and I turn on the radio
Kobe's death was bigger even though MJ was the bigger star.
That's not fukkijg trueKobe's death was bigger even though MJ was the bigger star.
I obviously knew who Michael was, but I was too young at the time to appreciate him like I do now. I remember his death being a huge deal because it was talked about everywhere. I learned a lot about him after he died and became a bigger fan because of it. It's still crazy to me to think a person like that actually existed, because no one else comes close to his level of celebrity. The sad part is that in the years before that, Michael’s reputation wasn't what it used to be. He was just another guy but he had everyone going crazy when the This is It tour was announced. Then after he died, people suddenly remembered who he was and the impact he had on music.
His health had been getting worse at the time of his death. I don't know if he would have been able to do all 50 shows at that point in his life. Especially since he was still dealing with addiction and he had nothing but yes men in his circle. This Smokey Robinson interview sheds some light on why things ended up the way they did. I had no idea they installed a metal plate in Michael’s head after the Pepsi incident which is what led to him having migraines.
Bow Wow's impact was hugeThe last girl was like "Cool, wheres Bow wow"

KobeDoubt we'll ever see another celebrity death have that big of an effect on the world in our lifetime.
