Besides the tourist PR cover-up stuff I had no idea it was that bad, I walked through Hunter's Point to meet with a girl from there and I noticed people were looking at me like . . some guy tried to sell me weed drive-by fashion and I was like

I grew up in what was the worst, or close to the worst, neighborhood in SF in the 80's and early 90's and my whole family didn't know how bad it was. SF is the second most dense big city in America behind NYC, so one block can be a parallel universe from the next block over. There used to be ten year old kids in the hood riding around on bicycles selling crack, weed etc. asking my moms if she was "looking".

But most violence that takes place in big cities is between people who know each other. Its usually not indiscriminate and its serious business. Thats even the case in ghetto cities like Baltimore and, yes, Oakland. The projects in SF are a different story though. The jects are a world of their own. You go to the jects in HP, Potrero Hill, Sunnydale etc. and you aren't from there or affiliated with their set, you are asking for it. SF has some of the worst projects in the country. SF managed to lower its murder rate by knocking down some of the mainier jects in Hunter's Point.

But rappers have been getting robbed and murked in Frisco since forever. Hella local underground legends from Frisco have fallen victim to the streets. Mister Cee from RBL Posse and a slew of other local rappers.

Iagree with a lot of ya posts but the bay is about 200 miles and highest crime rate area in the country by a large margin

I don't understand folks nowadays. It's not 1991 anymore and the four paragraph description of San Francisco in the Encyclopedia Britannica isn't the only information source. You can literally find dozens and dozens of online newspaper articles, documentaries and videos detailing life in the ghetto in San Francisco because its a big city with hoods like any big city with gotdamn hoods in America. Sh!t, San Francisco had the largest underground Gangsta Rap scene in the entire country in the 90's. Some of you folks must live under a rock or something.

Some of those "dusty cities" he mentioned are neighborhoods in SF (i.e. Sunnydale and Hunter's Point). The worst part of SF is arguably worse than the worst part of Oakland because the worst projects in SF are much more isolated and neglected than anywhere in Oakland. All of Oakland's projects end up being torn down and rebuilt to look like regular apartment complexes.

Most of the projects in the southern half of SF are run-down and neglected like rowhomes in Baltimore. Also, San Francisco is a very racist city towards blacks and there is very little opportunity for the black folk that live there which is why the black hoods in Frisco are so fukked up. San Francisco ain't all phags, Asians and rich white people like you were led to believe growing up.

One block down from the nordstrom plaza on market between mission and market all i see is drunks, fiends, and nikkas grindin. About a block up from market on eddy all i see is fiends, drunks, and nikkas grindin. That's a lot of work gettin moved real close to the most poppin tourist spot in the city.
