In reality 500k is the new 100k. Even 200k will just give you enough to feel rich.

But this is all going of the the lifestyle of the 2000s. Big house, family vacations, new foreign cars, the latest gagets, etc.

If you’re playing the new game 70k is your sweet spot. Just enough but you’re not working some high demand job. In this current climate you’re not getting rich working a 9-5. And people making 500k a year are in extremely niche positions. The mad men days of making 200k a year while doing nothing are gone, for now.

Even people I know making around 250k a year a living in debt and getting by trying the live that lifestyle.

I make over 200k without the wife. I pull about 10k a month after taxes, but my 401k is maxed out so I put about 31k a year into it. So 12k is not far off if I didn't invest so heavy. The reality is I don't worry about money at all. But I have severe lifestyle creep. I have a 100k car and I am looking at a 230k car in 4 more years. 300+ dinners are not even a thought. I see it and want it I get it. If I was more disiplined with my spending, I would be even better off, but I like my luxuries. Myu retirement is set. People making these comments have no clue of what they are talking about only about 14% of american households hit 200k+. What's even crazier the medien house hold income according to the census was 50k in 1990. In 2009 it was still 50k.

You can make it off of $70k in any of those cities if you’re childless. $100k/year will have you more than good anywhere in the US.

The average 1 bedroom apartment costs $3400 monthly in SF.

You will not be more than good on a $100k salary there...$70k will have you struggling without some serious compromises

If you have to rent out of necessity because you don't have the option to purchase a home, you're not more than good. Good is the bare minimum

200,000 a year is the new 5 dollars a day for real. :unimpressed:

You have to add your height to whatever number you make per year and divide that by your number of certs. After that you multiply the amount of assets you have then subtract your non liquid assets. After you're done with your liquid you have to do your solid. After you beat MGS you're ready for MGS2 and remember that Solidus only appears as a boss in this game. The sons of the patriots is the most important part of the whole six figure per year conversation. You can actually play the game like this: turn off the system for a while and wait for The End to die. Then you don't have to worry about how low 200,00 actually is. Bringing home 12,000 a month is truly just the beginning. You have to have the right headband for infinite ammo, and that's something six figure owners don't tell you about business.
