From 2000 to 2003, R&B was the shyt. It was way better than 90s R&B. Almost wish I could go back to those times.

:wow:

Avant making good love got me so much p*ssy. To this day. If you can sing this shyt to girls they turn to hoes :wow:

It’s like these new girls so amazed when you don’t need no auto tune.

It’s likes dudes forgot about the power of love ballads.

It’s lke these girls don’t know the true power of a great songwriter/singer/dancer.

What a generatiOn

If you compare it to the 90s and other decades, of course it's gonna look bad. The 2000s doesn't have a Whitney or a Mariah, an MJ, Janet or Prince. There are NO ICONS. but it wasn't that bad overrall

Aaliyah- AAliayh album
Usher- 8701 and Confessions
R kelly- Tp2.com
Tweet- Southern Hummingbird
Toni Braxton- the heat
Ashanti- first album.
Keyshia cole- Just like you and The way it is

NOt even gonna name all the Neo Soul artists that dominated in that decade
I think the 00's are underrated, but this is true and still prevalent. Even the people that could've blown up and been something else(Breezy) decided to fukk around too much. Biggest problem is that R&B stars really want to rap, while rappers really want to be on that crooning shyt. This is the Ye 808's-Drake effect, and I say that as someone who fukked with 808's and So Far Gone. That album and Drake's success pretty much opened the floodgates to current mediocrity.

It's funny, I don't think it's underrated at all and I'm seeing lots of new artists on bandcamp taking elements away from it.

Ehh, to me that was around the time that all these dudes wanted to be crooning rappers, I always hated that ish. Compare some of these corny ass songs being posted in here to Jodeci, Shai, Silk, Boyz to Men, etc... shyt, H-Town's ish was better than most the stuff posted in this thread combined.
