The Cs were a better team. Not to take anything away from the Pistons, but they benefitted a lot from LA collapsing that season/finals.

And we're going to act like a watered down version of that 04 squad didn't give them hell in 07

Kobe was on his OG sabo shyt, Payton & Malone played like some straight up shyt. That 2004 season mighta been the weirdest/trashiest season I've seen :patrice:

Cs were comparable on defense with better offense.

Detroit had the second best record in the league in 2007-08 only behind Boston. They were 6th in offense and 4th in defense. The 2003-04 team was 2nd in defense and 18th in offense. They had a better net rating than the 2003-04 team too. They just faced a great team that wasn't self destructing in the Celtics as opposed to the Lakers.

You really have to be a dweeb to try to argue that the 08 Pistons were better than the 04 Pistons

Box score analyst that get their talking points from RealGM need to be banned from this subforum or the quality will continue to go down

Even my brother laughs and cringes looking back at the 2004 playoffs. Every series the lakers had that year, he took somewhere between 6-10 more shots per game than Shaq :dead:

:laff::laff:c'mon breh

You're really gonna go so far off the rails that you're gonna make a New Yorker make the case for a Boston sports team? The Celtics bench had James posey, Eddie house, Tony Allen, Sam cassell, PJ brown, Leon powe, the big baby, and scalabrine giving quality minutes. Every single one of those guys averaged at least 10+ minutes on a 66-16 team. Boston cut their playoff rotation to nine men. Detroit ran with an 8 man playoff rotation with only one bench player averaging 12 minutes per game.

Sheed was more talented/turned the switch on when needed/was motivated.
You really did go that far off the rails :martin:. 4 all star games and 0 all NBA teams and 0 all defensive teams compared to 15 all star games, nine all NBA teams with 4 all NBA first teams, 12 all defensive teams, a defensive player of the year award, and a league MVP award.

2008 Celtics got better talent, better bench, AND defense. Coaching, I'd give to Larry Brown over Doc Rivers any day.
