What OP is talking about is very doable, laughably so.
Some guy who I was helping to train after I handed in my notice did this. He claimed all sorts of experience on his CV, including X amount of years experience with a web framework that was only X amount of years old, i.e he was lying through his teeth

I was making £28,000 a year (£540/week) . He was getting paid £182,000 a year (£3500 a week). he lasted 2 weeks before he got found out (he didnt know basic stuff that even a beginner would), and then was given 2 weeks notice. So he made £13,000 in a month, and did about 10 hours of real work the whole time.

I wasnt even mad.

I know because recruiters are willing to put forward anyone that can make a competent cv, but in the tech world there must be multiple tests to tests the user competence.

Taleo is 1 single platform. You do know you can switch resumes and phone numbers and emails right ? My pay isn’t exaggerated. Make a bet. You lose, then you send Beth who asked for money $100.

Yet you can't switch HR numbers for companys...you can give your own personal references....but you give direct numbers for corporate HR departments. And it's not like they don't verify employment....unless is for a lower tier position.

I highly doubt they would half ads check experience on a project manager that would over look million dollar projects....and I said Taleo because they are the number recruiter resource in the world...which it's highly unlikely a company willing to pay 200k would not use them.....just saying you probably finessed...but your b.s. on your paygrade.....this is just common sense shyt ......

correct me if i'm wrong but what i think OP is saying is that he finessed himself into a job that he then used as a spring board to get other jobs and experience to then lead him to this 200K job. he still did the work. he still learned shyt. the finessing was only at the first job. for the other jobs, the references, education and experience was legit and at that point you don't even have to use the lie you used to get the first job.

OP is not saying he lied and got a 200k out the gate.

My 'friend' is an IT consultant on Wall Street. No checks by the bank into his qualifications or visa status. He is CORP to CORP under an umbrella (of some sort) and the CORP only asked if he had a green card. He is earning ~1000 USD per day. He is not an American citizen but studied over there and has lived there for more than 20 years and so knows his way around and fits in.

He is not an American citizen but studied over there and has lived there for more than 20 years and so knows his way around and fits in.

Its different for immigrants then it is for black and regular Americans.

Lol bro do you know how many platforms exist outside taleo ? Example I’ve worked for several multinational s and didn’t even sniff taleo. HR calls youf refernces direct or sends a reference request using the email you assign to your reference on taleo.

It’s cool though, you can believe taleo is be all and end all but it’s not.

Dozens I am sure however Taleo is the number source and its not even close......they lead over 50% of all employer recruitment in the top Fortune 100/500/1000 companies my dude, the rest of the top 50 sources don't match their business combined...

And Taleo is just the example I used, my main point was there is no getting around the HR aspect which their isn't. :yeshrug:.........not saying your completely full of shyt.......just that its not likely any company giving out that salary is not going to do a very through bg check as that usually comes with big money responsibility............now for a job that maybe much less.....perhaps.......which leads me to believe that you are embellishing quite a bit my dude........
