These teams are gonna be whining about money and contracts in a couple years. This is exactly why I said before the lockout that bad management = losing money. You give out these ridiculous contracts, you deserve to be in the red.

Restricted free agents can't even be offered contracts until July 10th.
A max deal is LIKELY if they are seriously trying to pry him from Utah.
We don't know that yet.
its why teams being cheap is ok sometimes it's about money management not outright spending sprees. If you aint got a superstar you have a limited ceiling paying 3rd rate guys these type of contracts.

You can offer anything you want now & even come to an agreement but as you said previously, the actual signature on the contract wouldn't happen until the 10th.
I'm not worried about it. One scenario I could see playing out is a sign & trade deal which would help us with flexibility on the salary cap if they chose not to match & we actually do offer the max. It's early as you've stated so none of this matters. .
