The Cavs made a lot of shytty moves and were on the verge of some other shytty moves back in the day because of LeBron playing GM. Letting it out that you want Love on your team weakens your own position in the trade, a good GM wouldn't do that

Tristan's new contract wouldn't kick in until after next season.

They'd have cap room next summer to make a move for a mid tier center like Robin Lopez, or moving one of their young players would put them in Line for someone better. They also have the Brendan Haywood contract which is being discussed in the trade for Love, right now it's $2.2 million, next summer it jumps to $10 million (Not guaranteed). If they move that in addition to Wiggins + Bennett and don't get back Dieng they are retarded.
