because he's the coach and team president, sort of like how it is in football (soccer) the coach also makes team decisions. I think thats how its supposed to be tbh, let the guy who coaches the player pick who he wants to have on the team

NBA coaches don't have good track records being GMs as well as coach. Plus Doc thought the Bledsoe trade was a good idea.
