Not true. The Heat agreed to sign McRoberts to a contract for what would fit in the MLE. But the Heat can use their cap space to sign him and still have MLE.

They also still have the under-cap MLE and the biannual.

You only get one MLE though, which one depends on your cap. If they sign him with cap space it's not as big a deal but if they use the MLE then that's their biggest chip in trying to get someone like Pau & puts them with a hard cap to limit their flexability.
