I'm telling you. More people will start doing this

after that PG injury..they'd be crazy to do it. yea that type of injury is rare but have you ever driven without your license? you drive all cautious. thats how its gonna be when they sign that QO, they won't play like themselves.

How much do you dislike a situation?

If you're trying to get the hell outta somewhere, getting caught without your license is a price you're willing to pay.

The Franchise Tag in football = 1 year
Arbitration in baseball and hockey = 1 year agreement

the qualifying offer is as close as you'll get to that in basketball. The difference is, the QO in basketball, after it's over, you're free to go. In football and baseball, you may still be under team control anyway unless you either wrote it in your deal to avoid more tags or if your time of service ends arbitration.

Chris Bosh being some type of defensive guru is one of the biggest fabrications in basketball :russ:

Bruh is a terrible post defender who get whipped by anyone with a semblance of a post game. His P&R defense is slightly overrated to a degree considering he's not a elite rebounder. His usefulness in P&R coverage only became highlighted when the Heat went small with Battier at the 4 and switched to their small, trapping, blitzing/swarming style. When previous 'big 3' Heat teams were engaged and active that's when the effectiveness of his coverage while playing small came to light :ehh:

You do realize that him blitzing pick and rolls is part of the reason his rebounding suffered. That defense usually would take him away from the basket and out of rebounding range on a lot of plays. Bosh being such a beast against the pick and roll is the only reason they were able to play that blitzing style of defense because with him being so long he took away the passing lane to the roller and he was quick enough to prevent the point guard from turning the corner. He'd basically blow up the play and force the other team to reset their offense. There's a reason the Spurs did the best against Miami's defense cause they started bringing up an outlet to get the ball out of the man Bosh blitzed and then finished the play from there. Bosh doesn't like to bang inside and isn't a great post up defender as a result but you tripping about his P&R defense.

I'm not sure whether it's just posturing or not, but it's trickling out that Bledsoe is gonna just take Phoenix's qualifying offer. They wouldn't be able to trade him during the season without his consent if he signed it and he'd be a UFA after the season. That'd be quite a turn of events, though talking about it is much less than actually signing it given his injury history.

I've been saying forever that players should do this. I understand the concern about getting injured and fukking up that first big contract. But if you're a borderline all-star or better and not a head case chances are even if you get hurt the money will still be there for you a year into the future plus like Tre was saying you have way more control over your future.
