Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
here we go. this is the link I was looking for. http://www.82games.com/nbadraftpicks.htm

actual data going back 20 years NOT just one or two year outliers

it shows that after roughly pick 26 in the draft, all the picks are basically the same value. that the likelihood of even finding a role player is VERY RARE. all your getting at that point is AT BEST a 10-12th man on the roster that is there just as a placeholder or guy who comes in at the end of blowout. VERY RARE to find productive role players after pick 26 in the NBA. and definitely impossible in the second round.

Because the draft process was the same 20 years ago as it is today :stopitslime:

There's more scouting taking place and international stash picks today, you talk about "outliers" yet you were only talking about the 2010 draft even though the 08,09, 11 and 12 produced rotational players and some all-stars.

men lie. women lie. numbers don't. http://www.basketball-reference.com/blog/?p=2740

second round picks when looked at in totality not just exceptions are pretty much worthless. your better off getting someone like a Spencer Hawes (who is a known quantity) than just stacking up 2nd round picks.

:mindblown:

You have no idea what you're talking about, and please don't bring up data and numbers when your entire post history is littered with ignoring data. The new CBA is going to make 2nd rounders very valuable, they are non guaranteed contracts, and the chance of finding a Goran Dragic, DeAndre Jordan or Nikola Pekovic in the 2nd round is worth the risk, considering you can just cut the player in question if they don't pan out.

And Hawes is due for a contract, which is a major reason why the Sixers dumped him.

read it. don't see how it has any bearing of the value of 2nd round picks vis-a-vis known commodities like Hawes and Deng. my whole argument was against the dudes who thought stock piling 2nd round picks instead of proven vets is somehow a wise strategy.

Hawes is going to want around $40 million this off-season, Deng is going to want Josh Smith money.

I'd take 2nd rounders over locking into either of those contracts :russ:

You're the ONLY poster on this site to EVER call him Isiah Thomas Jr. If you can't differentiate between the two when one played in the 80s/90s and the other is playing now then you really are that fukking stupid. Plus I don't even live on the west coast. :umad:
