TCU is only as good as long as Gary Patterson is still there. As soon as he leaves for a better job, their irrelevant. The same goes for Baylor with Art Briles. U of H just makes more sense long-term (and is more of threat to Texas and Texas A&M) than TCU or Baylor.

Is the playoff committee also selecting the participants of the other bowls? Not sure what the point is of ranking 25 teams when most of them don't have a chance.

Their rankings decides which other 8 teams are eligible for the New Years/Access bowls. In terms of a top 25, I guess it's just tradition and good way to gauge who is on the rise.

Man FSU need to stop giving these cats reasons to drop them starting this weekend. Winning by 14 isn't gonna be enough it seems rest of the year.
