They played 3-5-2 under Conte and transitioned to 4-3-1-2 under Allegri so basically they always had 3 in midfield without a traditional second striker or 10 which is how they could accommodate Vidal,Pirlo,Marchisio and Pogba in one team. They had Cuadrado though which ended up helping them with width.

Watford plays that shyt with Mazzari too . It's working out for them so far. They have a nice, compact team.

I just don't see what Chelsea managers see in Oscar , he is one of those players that can do a bunch of stuff at a decent level without really excelling in one. Chelsea playing with a double pivot seems unnecessary to me and having only Hazard as the creative player makes game planning against them easy.

Industry and mobility. He puts in work and is tidy on the ball. He's ideal for a manager like Conte.

I really didn't want Blind playing LB esp. against Mahrez

Carrick couldn't cover for Pogba when he goes forward man. Only way Carrick gets in is if we switch to a 4-3-3. And I think both Darmain and Blind are too slow for Mahrez. I don't think he trust Darmain yet.

yeah that's what I meant I wanted the 4-3-3 switch

but given we went for the 2 holding, that's the best pairing we coulda gone for (Pog and Herrera)

Damian definitely quicker than Blind and maybe better defensively in that position, but we'll see what happens
