They ARE totally future title contenders. The problem is when the big money clubs come knocking, They'll keep this core for another season or so. After that I don't see them having the money to retain some of their key men like Alli. Not to mention they have a history of having key players poached by bigger clubs. Should they be excited sure...but the foolishness in North London (from both clubs really) is tiresome. However, some silverware is better than none and while Van Gaal did win the cup, he was already so maligned by the front office (something that Wenger doesn't have to worry about) he was out the door regardless of the result. Honestly, this is how it SHOULD be at Arsenal, but Wenger is basically king so what he says goes.

If anything Arsenal need a season of NOT playing European football. Look at the wonders its done for Chelsea.

i Agree..However do you really think arsenal will be able to do what Chelsea did..that's a dangerous comparison considering arsenal dont have the talent..the backbone and reluctant to spend..and not much players are lining up to play for wenger..all i have to say is arsenal should get used to being the third best team in London.
