Why would you need more than 4 HDMI ports on a TV? At that point you need an AV receiver or an HDMI switch. My AV receiver has 8 HDMI in and 2 HDMI out, my soundbar has 3 more HDMI ports and the Xbox One has 1.How in modern day are companies still making TV's with only 4 HDMI ports and why? wouldn't 6 hdmi ports be a great number? having to unplug devices each time you want to use them, and going round the back of the TV is a hassle. To the point where I've had to spread consoles around the house on different TV's.

I only use 5:
Tivo
Wii U
PS4
Xbox One
PC
Really the Xbox One can take the Tivo though. I almost never use the Wii U so it could go in the closet.
You know what, you right![]()
The solution was posted on page 1 mijo...an HDMI Splitter. Got all 3 next gen consoles, Chromecast, and Soundbar plugged in at oncewhy would I need more than 4 hdmi?

post a link to your receiver pleaseYou just need a decent receiver at this point. People with that many devices plugged in at once usually have a home theater or media center set up. A TV with 7-8 HDMI ports is highly uncommon as I think the manufacturers feel the same way. Like @winb83 said, my receiver has like 7 HDMI ports and even let's me control it from my phone.
