Mostly ever hyped game this gen has been lackluster except for the Witcher 3 which i didnt like but I will give props

Every game this gen gets so much hype. Titanfall,evolve,shadow of mordor,dragon age etc.

Then the games just come and go. The same people who were hyping it up before launch and the first month then move on to hypebeast something else and suddenly admit the games werent all that great in the first place and they were caught up in the hype.

Thats why when witcher 3 came out and the hype machine started I was but it seems to have maintained its postivity so I copped it. Havent played yet though.

fukk point and click story games and episodic gaming it's ruined the industry

The Wii U has the best games this gen.

I enjoyed GTA 4's story and missions more than GTA 5.

MGS5's story isn't bad

Mass effect 3's ending isn't that horrible

TLOU's ending is

Zelda is still the GOAT

Single player + Local multiplayer>>> Online with nikkas you don't know

Naughty dog hasn't been the same since they lost the Crash Bandicoot IP

The PS2 is not the GOAT console it didn't even have 4 controller ports it just had more games than other consoles that gen.

I enjoyed gta iv more than gta v as well. It felt different. It felt like rockstar was trying ro evolve,even if the results were a bit mixed.

Gta v returned to the boring juvenile game with bad writing thats just a collection of rip offs of movies that are far superior. Like a spoof without jokes.

Yep, the hype for those games seemed so artificial. Fallout 4 is another one. I think the only game that lived up to the hype for me this gen was Bloodborne. Then again I have really high expectations from games nowadays, been doing this for 20+ years.

2014 is was one of the worst years in gaming I can ever remember. The list of games is laughably bad.

2015 was ok,but just looks better because of how awful 2014 was.

Every other gen always felt like the game industry hit reset and came with fresh new franchises and ideas. This gen is just a continuation of last gen with better graphics.

Creativity is at an all time low.

Nah I don't think it'll ever crash. These new consoles are already outselling last gen's consoles. Worst case scenario is I see everything becoming open world, MP or F2P and I stop playing cus they don't make games I like anymore

I think people are fooled by that part. Spending habits have completely changed. From movies to music to game,people go out in droves to buy things first. Sales on everything have become top heavy. They soon drop off. Look at star wars. Smashed every record. All of a sudden at a certain point its dropped like a rock and wont even pass titantic let alone avatar.

I think once the smoke clears,this gen sales wont even be close to last gens.

True, but that's what people were saying in 2013 when the PS4 launched with crazy numbers. "Oh yeah, but that's just the hardcore. It doesn't mean anything." Fast forward 2 years later and its still selling like crazy. Only way PS4 doesn't sell as much as PS3 is if this gen is cut short. Last gen was 8 years long lol.

I dont think itll happen until year 4 where we see the drop off happen. I could be wrong but we shall see.

2015 was good in my eyes though, but it really only had 4 or 5 great games (Bloodborne, Witcher 3, MGSV, Fallout 4 and Xenoblade). And I thought Fallout 4 was a bit of a letdown. Still a great game, just not as great as expected. Didn't like Bloodborne either (too hardcore for me). But much better than 2014

Dark souls 3 looks like more of the same. But I bet you won't dare see these neckbeards complain thats its on the verge of becoming a stale yearly franchise like ass creed and cod

I'm banking on Uncharted 4, Persona 5, FFXV, Zelda Wii U, TLG, Horizon and Ratchet and Clank to bring that fresh next gen feeling that feels like a leap from last gen. So far very few games achieved that and then the ones that actually did still had something about it that kept it from being GOAT(cross gen, open world etc.)

Dark Souls has timeless gameplay like a Zelda or Mario game. As long as the level design, atmosphere, and bosses are on point, we're in for another classic. There's really no feeling in gaming like when you finally take down a boss in a Souls game
