You also seem to have more faith than me that cac America won't be substantially affected by attack ads linking Bernie to Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc..."Bolshevik Bernie" is going to inevitably be Trump's nickname for him.

I think Trump's internals are showing him losing handily to Biden which is why he has his minions going around the world risking indictment/impeachment to gather up dirt on him.

It's too early to take polls too seriously IMO. Once the primaries are over, FOX News and right-wing media are going to go all in on Trump's opponent.

So whether it's Sanders, Biden, or Warren, most likely Trump is going to gain some ground in the polls (this happens with most incumbents). It's not that Trump is going to get any more popular, it's that the right is going to do their best to drag his opponent down to Hillary levels of unpopularity.

Trump also has an untapped well of voters - 23M non-college educated white men did not vote in 2016. His campaign are trying to connect with these people to get them registered for 2020.

no, bernie will win them all. they will jump at the green new deal which assures coal and natural gas industries aren't coming back and shows how tighter emissions standards will basically choke out any chance of manufacturing returning. bernie's populism will make a lot more sense to them than trump's populism
