Pretty simple. He accomplished most of what he set out to do when he was first elected.

  • Got us out of the recession
  • Expanded Healthcare for 10s of millions of americans
  • Signed the Paris accord /various environmental protections
  • Iran nuclear deal
And He left office with high approval ratings. The truth is a lot of this is revisionist history or attempting to frame it through a different lense one that assumes that Obama wasn't always center - left
I’m sorry but people lost their homes and wealth during his presidency because he never pushed to hold anyone accountable or rectify it. This isn’t revisionists because people are still struggling and he didn’t do much about predatory loans.

He didn’t do much to change the structures of this country. That’s a fair critique. It wasn’t “Change we can believe in,” but I also don’t hate Obama. I love dude but we can do better.

Good luck Bernie! The pro Bernie posts in here literally could be copied and pasted from the pro Warren posts, when she was leading. :lolbron:

I’m sure it’ll be different for him tho.

I agree he should've done more in the first two years when the Dems controlled Congress.

But it's not really fair to blame him for Republican obstructionism after 2010. From 2011 on his hands were tied and the GOP automatically blocked anything he did.

1st year especially. Reid didn't remove the 60 vote requirement until after 2010. Which made GOP obstruction all the more easier without a Dem supermajority. Had Ted Kennedy stepped down right when he diagnosed things could have went better for the Dems.

If we're being completely honest, the Dem base not showing up for the 2010 midterms hurt us much more than we expected.

So according to the NY Times, Kamala Bae is thinking about endorsing Big Boy Biden. I wonder if she's doing this because she wants to be AG or because she thinks her endorsement can help him get more voters.

Also, I do find it funny that after Booker, Kamala Bae and Castro went after Biden, it didn't work so well for them long term. Bernie falling back on Biden is hilarious but I don't think he'll suffer the same fate as the others. His supporters are ride or die.

You're waxing a bit poetic a bit here.

Sub prime mortgages + a recession always meant people were going to lose homes.

The thing about Booker/Kamala/Castro is that people (including Democratic donors) are worried about losing to Trump and don't think a black or brown person can win right now so they had trouble fundraising.

But I agree, Bernie supporters are also way more dedicated than any of the other candidates supporters. They have almost Trumpian levels of devotion. Maybe a good thing. :yeshrug:

Random question for anybody who knows the answer - since the frontrunners are pretty :flabbynsick: I think it's worth asking.

What happens if the winner of the primary suffers some sort of serious health issue (or worse) before the election and is no longer able to run? Would Trump just run whoever they picked for VP? And what if it happens before they choose a VP? Would there be a special election or something like that?

I'm kind of curious as to what the rules are for something like this.

Dnc handpicks someone.

thats how Obama won his senate seat. His opponent dropped out during the election cycle , and the gop picked someone.

Maybe I think of the worst possible scenario on occasion, but that seems like a disaster waiting to happen with all these 70+ candidates:huhldup:

No matter who the DNC picked people would be mad.
