It is still too high. And I thought this president specifically has done impeachable offenses and he is unworthy of office. Why give him more $ as Commander in Chief?Defense spending as percentage of GDP has actually been going down since 2009
our military is understaffed so some of that went to increasing pay and incentives for people to join, especially in the more specialized areas re: cyber security, intelligence, languages/translators, etc. so i'm not mad at that.Yes. But the budget item is bloated. You think we need to allocate more to Defense?
too high based on what? and if trump's budget wasn't approved, do you think the fund requested were going to be allocated to anything you champion? It is still too high. And I thought this president specifically has done impeachable offenses and he is unworthy of office. Why give him more $ as Commander in Chief?
Uh, is this a yes or a no? lolour military is understaffed so some of that went to increasing pay and incentives for people to join, especially in the more specialized areas re: cyber security, intelligence, languages/translators, etc. so i'm not mad at that.
america currently has a lot of enemies as well as growing tensions with other world powers, so in the interim, if we need to strap up, i don't mind given it won't be until someone with a sound mind gets in office and returns to diplomacy that we can relax. i also hope whoever the dem nomiee is will commit to removing our troops from all these regions we insist on occupying and policing, then again, that will give reason to cut spending.
as an offshoot of that, it's not so much the spending as much as the spending is done inefficiently - these contractors and defense companies run game on washington just like insurance and pharma. so i do hope we reign in the influence of lobbying and backroom deals that make our spending inefficient, and then, yet again, hopefully we can cut defense spending.
Dems are pro Military spending in case you missed it. All the defense contractors are in blue states/It is still too high. And I thought this president specifically has done impeachable offenses and he is unworthy of office. Why give him more $ as Commander in Chief?
The world average.too high based on what? and if trump's budget wasn't approved, do you think the fund requested were going to be allocated to anything you champion?
it's not a yes or no, it's a i see the reasons for it, but if a lot of shyt was done differently, then i'd see the case to cut itUh, is this a yes or a no? lol
we are not average in the world's military, that's like asking alabama to spend the average on football facilities to be on par with the majority of srcub schools in the nation. the US plays in the big leagues of military strength and spends as such. The world average.
Why as a Dem when you are in the minority do you have to approve it? Why not oh I don't know 'resist'? It is likely to pass anyway.
Most Dems are pro imperialism at long as the domestic issues move progressive. We had this discussion with Warren supporters before on here and they pretty much stated foreign policy doesn't matter as much. I've gotten the same response offline. It is still too high. And I thought this president specifically has done impeachable offenses and he is unworthy of office. Why give him more $ as Commander in Chief?
Not universally. I think that's what part of the fight in the party is about.Dems are pro Military spending in case you missed it. All the defense contractors are in blue states/
Americans are pro military lol, the Pubs wanted to double it if I remember correctly and they are half the countryNot universally. I think that's what part of the fight in the party is about.
And what about representative government? Is the electorate asking for more military spending? Specifically are Democrats asking for more? No.
Thanks for the non-answer. lolit's not a yes or no, it's a i see the reasons for it, but if a lot of shyt was done differently, then i'd see the case to cut it
We are in a league of our own. No one is even close to our spending.we are not average in the world's military, that's like asking alabama to spend the average on football facilities to be on par with the majority of srcub schools in the nation. the US plays in the big leagues of military strength and spends as such.
