They exists in the echo chamber of their political connections and it re-enforces itself within that segregated community and slowly disconnects where people are mentally at in 49 or 48 other states and hundred or thousand miles away. This leads to a blind spot in where collectively the average voter is at. This is the gist. I think you know this.

Let's not even get started on the perverse self-interested individuals who make up consultants and experts who rely on these connections and insular culture to make money or the lobbyists for corporations who single minded focus on their interests is above all else, usually at the exclusion of the well-being of average individuals.
