Bernie Sanders' disastrous answer on '60 Minutes' - CNNPolitics

Cooper: Do you know how all -- how much though? I mean, do you have a price tag for -- for all of this?
Sanders: We do. I mean, you know, and -- and-- the price tag is -- it will be substantially less than letting the current system go. I think it's about $30 trillion.
Cooper: That's just for "Medicare for All," you're talking about?
Sanders: That's just "Medicare for All," yes.
Cooper: Do you have -- a price tag for all of these things?
Sanders: No, I don't. We try to -- no, you mentioned making public colleges and universities tuition free and canceling all student debt, that's correct. That's what I want to do. We pay for that through a modest tax on Wall Street speculation.
Cooper: But you say you don't know what the total price is, but you know how it's gonna be paid for. How do you know it's gonna be paid for if you don't know how much the price is?
Sanders: Well, I can't -- you know, I can't rattle off to you every nickel and every dime. But we have accounted for -- you -- you talked about "Medicare for All." We have options out there that will pay for it.

I still find it a little weird that after being antagonized and trolled for three years by the monster in the WH, we're not seeing record turnout everywhere to at the bare minimum to send a message to him. .
most people are not any worse off now than they were in 2016 :yeshrug: outrage on CNN aside. and frankly, some people are doing better, even if they dont want to admit it

combine that with a weak field of democrats where every possible frontrunner has a ton of flaws, and it's just not a good recipe :skip:

I’m curious to see how Bernie stands up to the Bloomberg full court press coming.
Bloomberg opened his mouth once in that last debate and dropped 3 points while Bernie went up 3 points. He only does well when he stays out of the spotlight and buys out ads with pictures of him standing next to Obama. When he goes on the attack, it blows up in his face.

I agree unfortunately we have people that have been brainwashed because they don't want taxes going up :hamster:

Not just that, it's more to do with American being a diverse country.

More racially homogeneous countries almost always have bigger social safety nets. When you have countries with larger percentages of minorities and immigrants then the dominant group is usually less likely to support social programs because of the perception that they're being taxed for programs that only benefit minority groups.

This is true but racism and prejudice that is always a thing I agree with you.

Even if most people aren't worse of, they know the moral fabric and level of discourse in the US has changed.

Hell, even Clint Eastwood admitted to it.

That's should be enough motivation for most. Even the borderline racists.
