You can compare Bernie's position on immigration to Corbyn on Brexit but Bern is in a much stronger position there. Corbyn was waffling all over the place and made Boris seem OK. No one left has a more reasonable immigration policy than Bernie. If immigrant groups want to shoot themselves in the foot then they'll find themselves with less with the other moderates.
I agree that Bernie is a better politician than Corbyn. I'm getting Corbyn vibes in the sense that the Sanders wing will be divided because of immigration/deportations/ICE. It's part of why AOC endorsed him.

Look I agree with abolishing ICE yadda yadda yadda but if there's a place where Bernie has to pivot it's on part of his immigration plan. Biden just came out and said supporting a moratorium on deportations as well. It's definitely a top issue for immigrant groups Joe Biden Denied Change To 2020 Immigration Plan Ahead Of Nevada Caucus

Deporting murderers and rapists with immigrant background is not controversial outside of Bernie twitter lol. I don't care about the "overton window". This isn't the issue to die over but if the DSA left kneecaps Bernie on this I will be pissed

The Castro/crazy socialism stuff is a flop. Bernie has a better chance of winning on those grounds if that's where they want to go.

But if the DSA left moans in tweets like these and the election is a referendum on deportations/borders Bernie will lose. Bernie's working class message might fall flat when the threat of immigration on a weakened labor force exists. I'm already getting Corbyn PTSD. Abolish 90% of the online left. Some Dems complain about Bernie's old thoughts on guns/immigration but if that Bernie existed today he would win 40 states lol

I really don’t understand their issue with deporting people who committed violent crimes.

The just need to accept the policy that we're not gonna separate kids and we will allow aslyum seekers to get their fair trial under international law. Other than that let's get the dude into office and then they can widdle his administration down on the more liberal things. If you go full absolute, you lose.

NYC brehs - who has more sway in NYC (think broadly, not just where you align) - Bloomberg or De Blasio (who's endorsing Sanders)?
Probably Bloomberg, deBlasio is pretty despised across all political isles in the city. Bloomberg wasn't liked but Bill seems hated, even among liberals he's not liked.

Bloomberg’s stock really fell with stop & frisk, the protests were wild. But my anecdotal information is that we hate all of our mayors anyway lol.

Among the people? Probably a wash. Bloomberg’s stop and frisk was popular with white people and hated by POC. Bloomberg also has his hands in everyone’s pockets. DiBlasio is perceived as lazy and ineffective. DiBlasio probably has 0 effect on anything to be honest. I’d imagine that the New York senators would have more clout. Schumer will probably stay out of it as senate majority leader. Gilibrand backed HRC against Bernie last time but now has one of the most left voting records in the country - even more so than Warren and Sanders over the past year. I could see her coming out for Sanders or Warren.

100 billion dollars is literally 1% of the amount of money we've spent on wars since 2001. It's not even 10% of the annual US discretionary budget.

The fact that you're even talking about billions with a B shows that you have no idea what we're even talking about right now.

and bernies performance when asked how he was gonna pay for all this shyt was fukkin embarassing

let me get this straight: you actually think bernie sanders can accomplish the promises hes running on? :laff:

im just writing off florida in 2020 :yeshrug: 0 percent chance the dems take it, and they dont even need it to win. PA, MI, WI and maybe OH is where the victory happens
We gotta get out of this Florida, upper Midwest stalemate every 4 years. These white people and Cubans are killing us.
