Warren is such a great role model
It’s a contrast between a candidate who appears to actually be good at doing her homework than having people who go around telling the world that someone is really good at homework.

I'm not going to belabor the point, but whatever slim chances he had of winning the nomination ended with that heart attack.
He never had a chance. But the facade of liking him as a presidential candidate doesn’t need to continue anymore. He should stay in just to bury the rest of the losers, however, he is finished.

In many ways, Trump and Bernie are alike.

They never thought they would win.

Even Bernie thought he was just running a policy focused opposition campaign and it got traction

Come on now fam, I've stated repeatedly that Bernie's rhetoric on reparations is a failure. What I'm trying to do is delineate the difference between Bernie on reparations and Bernie on addressing the African American community with his actual policies. I'll point back to the 5 minutes or so of discussion about how Bernie will help African Americans before the reparations question even comes up. I don't get why everyone leads off with addressing income inequality if they're only concerned with the cash payment. Charlemagne started with economic empowerment; the town hall question linked reparations to income inequality too. It's not disingenuous to respond with a literal concept for addressing income inequality just because he's not offering a check Andrew Yang style. When people ask him specifically about the cash payout, he says "nah, I've got better ways to help" and you can disagree that they are better. But to paint him as disingenuous or bad on racial issues is unfair.

I really think this comes down to what the goal is reparations when you ask about it. If your only focus is the cash payout, then I understand attacking Bernie like he's fronting. But if you're focused on the income inequality aspect, then he is addressing your concern every time he brings up expanding 10 20 30. And just to circle back to it, I think HR 40 and Booker's mirror version is a great idea and one that every candidate should endorse but that should not be enough in an honest conversation about addressing racial wealth gaps or systemic racism. The reason I take Bernie and Warren over every other candidate regardless of how well they dodges the actual reparations concept is because they have legislation throughout their platforms to address things like systemic racism. Bernie's GnD applies that Clyburn plan and I'd argue his Justice Reform plan beats out everyone else's although tbh I haven't taken deep dives into every candidates. His Universal Programs naturally will help as well. So if we're talking reparations alone...yeah his answers kinda suck. They're the most honest of the bunch, but that comes with pissing people off unnecessarily. But if we want to focus on the actual intended outcome of reparations, shrinking the racial wealth gap, then I'll put Bernie up there with the top platforms focusing on that goal. That's my main point.
The debate we are having is mainly about reparations. I fully understand all of the policies proposals by Bernie and the other candidates. If you go a few pages back you can find posts of me stating that I think a boarder conversation is needed on UBI and Baby Bonds. I have also given Bernie credits on M4A, Foreign Policy, and his student loan forgiveness program multiple times. What I have been criticizing is how he communicates when he discuss black issues. And yes I do think it is disingenuous when you try to evade a direct question by mentioning a another program. He was playing politics and got called out on it.

If you go back through my posts you would see that I am open to non monetary reparations depending on what it is. Again my entire point is when his supporters say he has the same position as all the other candidates, it is not true. Warren, Castro, Booker, and Beto didn’t come out against cash reparations. Bernie has. If you are against cash reparations with out seeing the commission recommendations, then you are not in full support of the bill. That means he doesn’t have the same position as the rest of the candidates. If you think his other programs will help close the wealth gap then cool. I think it is a possibility, but I have my concerns. It is well know that government programs often give worse service to Black people. We seen this with FEMA payouts, and all throughout the healthcare system. There have to be safeguards in to make sure we get equal treatment. Like I said before I support the 10 20 30 plan, but my fear is a disproportionate amount of the funds will go to rural white areas. Also over the long term I think Baby Bonds can have the most impact in closing the wealth gap. But it is not a either or thing. I can support these programs and still be in favor of reparations.

Finally, I know for a lot of people reparations is a new. For me it is not. I been in favor of reparations for well over a decade. It started when I researched the non whitewashed version of MLK. Then I found out John Conyers introduced reparations legislation each congressional term.
