Well what I’m talking about is her lying about her race her whole life...not whatever you’re trying to lump in under “identity critiques.” That will hurt her in the general.
Seems y'all didn't pay attention in 2016. Identity critiques of Warren isn't going to stop her momentum in Dem primaries.

Ok, and I didn’t disagree with you. I said it would hurt her in the general in my initial response to you.
In my opinion, anyone who cares about shyt like that wasn't likely to vote dem anyway. :yeshrug:
It's not like being a native american is a positive thing in this country

I actually think this hurts her more in the primary than the general. The people who would hold this against her are high-info left-wing and right-wing partisans, not "swing voters" or disengaged voters. Average people don't give a shyt about the appropriation of Native American identity. It's actually a pretty common thing for white people (and black people) to do. :yeshrug:

I think it's so common that people don't even care other than concern trolling.

That said, I don't see it affecting the primaries too much because most liberal voters don't prescribe to purity politics. I could be wrong, but this story has been out long before she formally declared and she's only grown since.

Anecdotal, but one of my Native Americans buddies posted a photo on instagram yesterday from the selfie-line. Only people who complained were right wing trolls. :mjlol:

I couldn’t disagree more.

It’s easy to forget most voters don’t follow any of this shyt that closely this early. People don’t know the full extent of the issue...I didn’t either until this week. It’s worse than I thought.

She listed herself as “Native American” for like 9 years as a Harvard professor until she got tenure. It helped boost Harvard’s diversity statistics but she never did shyt for or engaged with the American Indian student body.

She never gave any documents of what nation(s) she was from. The only proof she gave is she had high cheekbones. Then she did a DNA test and it turned out she was like 1/357774478th.

She lied about her race and benefited from it for years. No way around it. If you think this won’t be a sticking negative in the general, you are in for a rude awakening imo. She’s ON CAMERA making up some Romeo and Juliet shyt about her parents eloping due to tribal beef or something. That definitely will be made into attack ads. Trump will push the narrative and force it to be addressed in the media.

Will people care? I think it can potentially hurt independent/low information voter turnout because people will see her as fundamentally fake and full of shyt on a gut level.

Wrong. You have it backwards. The people who will care about this will be low information/independent/non-ideological voters.

Lying about your race to benefit your ivy league education and career is one of those visceral things that make people say fukk her cause she’s fake.

All you've shown is that she identified as native American. You really haven't shown that being more beneficial in America than say being a white woman who still benefits from AA and Title IX.

Are you now ready to agree you're engaging in identity politics which you were previously denying?

No, I’ve shown she lied about American Indian for years, benefited from it by being touted as a “minority” on Harvards’s faculty, and made up :duck: about her parents eloping over American Indian heritage on camera.

You can keep ignoring those facts if you want, but you might be disappointed in the outcome.

I don’t know wtf you keep talking about “identity politics,” title IX and which group has more benefits than who, etc. for but that’s irrelevant.

I’m saying she lied about her race...repeatedly...on record and that will not go over well with a lot of potential voters.
