How is breaking up big tech companies going to help?
Because a number of them have too much power with respect to US policy and politicians

On the left AND the right

That influence translates to shyt that effects current and future US politics, domestic and foreign.

Part of fixing the problem is acknowledging the problem even if you're part of it and it's refreshing to hear her admit it

But users will go to a new search engine or social media outlet.

I get there’s a problem but breaking them em up doesn’t solve the problem.

How does breaking them up solve the problem?

Dude, the problem isn't the technology in and of itself. The reason antitrust was formed was because concentration of market power in the hands of a small number of large actors breeds antidemocratic conditions. It creates lopsided balances of power between working people and the owners of capital, giving those few, large, wealthy actors an outsized ability to enact their will in our political arena and society at large. Standard of living for working people is reduced, which creates social disorder. Breaking up these tech monopolies would create market choice in with multiple social media outlets or search engines, spreading out the accumulation of value and wealth created by these new technologies. The standard operating procedure for these monopolies is to acquire potential rivals and kill any features/technological advances that may compete with their products. They're sitting on goldmines of progress that should be unleashed.

Uncertain grounds
I just came around to thinking that Yang would be an interesting VP pick

Im not sure who would consider him but its worth considering. He has a really devoted and non traditional base..keeps rising in the polls and would make Pence seem completely phony and antiquated in a debate.

Plus UBI is gaining steam as an idea..most dont see him as "qualified" to be president but perhaps he could be VP and groomed. Or at the very least in the cabinet (but i recall reading somewhere he wouldnt be interested in a lesser position)
