Yeah that graphic is usually used to show that Bernie has more donations from female supporters than any other candidate rather than that he has more female support. The polling has suggested in the past that he's the most popular with PoC (latino voters really strengthening this position) and that he's as popular with women as men though. This has been something Bernie supporters have been trying to get across since before Biden even got into the race.

As Sanders begins to crisscross the country for his 2020 presidential bid, proving he can consolidate the Democratic base will be his biggest test.

“We were criticized for being too white; that was a correct criticism,” Sanders said on the Breakfast Club radio show in March. “We were criticized for being too male; that was a correct criticism. That’s going to change.”

It’s starting to. An analysis of recent polls from November of 2018 to March 2019 shows Sanders is more popular with people of color than white people, and women like Sanders as much as men do, if not more. He leads every other possible 2020 contender with Latino voters and lags behind only Joe Biden — who hasn’t announced a bid yet — with African-American voters. Sanders’ polling numbers with black voters are double that of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), according to a March Morning Consult poll.

All of this is just to say, the "Bernie Bro's" crap is magnifying a small vocal minority of his support and erasing a very diverse group of voters. Bernie's biggest issue hasn't been race or sex, it's been age. Older voters do not rock with him like the younger generations have.

this is what scares me about a bernie run in 2020. there's a lot of middle class democrat voters who are gonna say "you know what, fukk this guy's proposals. trump is better for my pockets than bernie is" and they literally might not vote for him. not to mention that if it REALLY comes down to bernie vs trump? the fukkin DNC won't even want him to win CNN won't REALLY want bernie to win. nancy pelosi, chuck schumer, these people would rather have trump in office than bernie sanders. so it's a tough, uphill fight

bernie's message and what he's shooting for is admirable, but it's a tough sell as an immediate turnaround as opposed to a gradual phase-in. and i'll be voting for him if he wins the primary maybe he can pull it off

On a more serious note I checked FB today and to my surprise I had 4 friend requests. So I look at the tab and it's 4 accounts that I ignored last election cycle and says 4yrs next to their names(for the age of the request). Not sure if they're back for the senate trial or election but despite all of our differences in this thread I hope we can come together and vote Trump out of office because we're up against a lot.

This has been my biggest concern. I remember callers from different progressive campaigns calling in to Sam Seder's show after the blue wave in 2018 and talking about losses they took at the margins where the DNC offered zero support (in some cases where the democrats in the area even endorsed the Republican which cross-party endorsements happens more than I'd thought and is weird). I'm not sure that the DNC rallies around Sanders when he's building networks that will circumvent their power in order to empower regular people who aren't in the bag. But I'm down to ride this out, see how it works and take notes for the next generation of progressives even if it doesn't work out.
