it's actually not, the first person i quoted on this topic was making the point biden supporters need to fall in line

and lastly, as i've said multiple times, the reality is that centrist dems can weather trump better, so if it seems like it's a one sided ask, that's why. you can't make people who'll be ok want to support something they don't agree with in the same way that people who have the most to lose under 4 more years of trump would. sucks, but i mean, if it comes down to pettiness within the dem party, that's the outlook.

i personally feel like people dems will come together to vote out trump either way, but in the worse case scenario that pettiness succeeds, well the result is more catastrophic for one end than the other.
i just made a post not too far up of why it's not the same...

and all of this continues to make the case of why the two party system is problematic. it fukked over the republican party to transform them to the joke of a party they are today, and i have no clue what the outcome will be with the dem party.

I looked up, and if your point is that a centrist could weather Trump better you'd have to make the case for why that is cuz I see no evidence of that.

yeah progressives have a shot only in a two party system, that’s here in America. Simple as that.

Parliamentary systems typically have two leading candidates for prime minister/president. Center Right and Center left, occasionally someone will win from the extreme right or left.

Hilary never said she wouldn’t vote for Bernie u just made that up.

you’re entire post just proved my point. Moderates will vote for progressives if they win the democratic ticket no matter what. Progressives won’t do the same for moderates.

I’d much rather have a parliamentary system. Progressives branch out have their own party, run their own ppl and when they inevitably lose, they’ll be forced to support the democrat moderates.

I’ll take that right now, please. Y’all need a quick and swift reality check on how much power u think u actually have.
True, she gave him a ringing endorsement :mjlol:
“I’m not going to go there yet,” she said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on Tuesday in response to whether she’d back Sanders.
In an election against a man that wants her locked up :picard:

You're making shyt up again with moderates supporting progressives. Just look at Hillary/Obama numbers. Like I said before, keep repeating it if it makes you feel better about yourself but it's patently false.

And you seem hell bent on kicking progressives out of democratic party and making it easier for Republicans to keep the power :mjpls:

Moderates like you are so willing to back progressives yet in 90% of your posts you dream of getting rid of progressives :sas2:

Are Bernie Sanders and his supporters centrists then?
I'm pretty much a Marxist, but fukk with Bernie (and Liz) because I believe he genuinely wants to improves people's lives. Bernie is not going to challenge capital in any real way. And if his plans were to be inacted they give a buffer to capital by generalizing the petty bourgeoisie condition.. which is self-defeating because the distribution problem never gets solved because the goal of capital is to always accumulate

Basically I'm just bored, realize how fukked we are, and enjoy the fukkery

rural america, where most poor white people live, voted trump.

and the dem party is not that, so maybe it's time to start a party that is that...
And in blue state america, most of the white people that make more then 80k voted for trump too. White people are the same everywhere. I agree with your second part, because just "getting rid of trump" doesn't answer, what if it happens again.

This thread is toxic.

Actually most political forums get toxic during dem primaries.

shyt becomes game of thrones...

Just left of the center. I’ve said it before. :ld:

Bernie is not that progressive but our paradigm is so fukked up that many think he is Mao.
Word, I very much agree on the paradigm fukking up people's perspectives. I do think Liz's signature policies (mass student debt cancellation, wealth tax, anti-trust action against some of the largest corporations in the world, fighting domestic and global financial corruption, etc) do place her pretty firmly on the left of center and more or less in line with Bernie but it's semantics and I agree with your broader point.

i'm going by the broad strokes thecoli paints them with - wealthier, people who agree with lower taxes, moderate amounts of social programs, some corporatism, anti M4A, anti- free college/student loan forgiveness, don't want to abolish ice or decriminalize illegal immigration, don't want to extend more benefits to non citizens, etc. trump gets 4 more years and actually fully repeals ACA, stops federal min wage from being raised, continues to make cuts to social programs and benefits, they can withstand that better than working class progressives.

where did it say she wouldn’t vote for Bernie? U reached a conclusion that isnt true. Straight assumption on your part.

Hilary had less votes not bc of moderates but bc progressives didn’t vote for her like they did Obama. :what:

are you really trying to say progressives voted for Hilary and moderates didn’t show up to vote for Hilary? :pachaha:

I fukk with progressives. I openly support black progressive candidates as I believe they have the best vision for the country accounting for the structural framework of racism within new progressive policies.

Again you’re making up stats. 90% of my posts aren’t trying to get rid of progressives. But if y’all want to push for a parliamentary system. I 100% encourage it and accept it. reality will hit u in the face very very quickly. Bernie would be irrelevant.

Progressives benefit way more from a 2 party system. That won’t be the case if the Democratic Party splits. You’ll be a footnote, like in every other progressive group in a parliamentary system. You won’t matter until we need you.

be careful for what you wish for.
