It's a great question, people vote for various reasons she gets to see who he is as a person and I'm not even a Biden fan. Stuttering is tough, one of the most embarrassing things to get through.

Biden was so passionate in that response that he got a lady to cry in the audience. That whole segment was emotional to watch. Whenever Joe talks about things like personal loss or handicaps, his real emotion comes out and he comes off really genuine in ways other people can't. Primarily because he's went through hell his whole life (from a personal standpoint) and he comes off as relateable.
