I've seen this theory floated around and get that sense from some of my friends. I still find it a little weird that after being antagonized and trolled for three years by the monster in the WH, we're not seeing record turnout everywhere to at the bare minimum to send a message to him. Even taking into account the superstar Obama was, 500k increase in the population of NV + early voting for week + intense Trump hatred + GOTV campaign by Bernie should have made up for that difference.
you needed hatred from trump + him breaking something big. the general electorate doesn't keep up with regulatory changes (ie stuff he's doing to weaken environmental protections) nor the judicial system. i don't even think the impeachment moved the needle because the charges weren't as digestible (and salacious) as something like clinton's affair. they need something tangible to be broken in the form of the economy or war to really get people invested beyond "vote him out". i think most the hatred for him is because he's simply detestable human, but for many, it's not based on anything he's doing in the white house.

08 had Obama + a broken economy and spiraling war on terror, Obama definitely ignited things, but the economy and war were big sparks on their own

The Deep State
:russell: you've spent years defending establishment Dems and now you see the progressive wave so you want to prop up establishment-lite Elizabeth Warren. Still wouldn't be surprised if you're some DNC paid troll.

Warren isn't going to win a single state in this election. She's with in the margin of error in her home state(down 1% to Bernie in the latest poll. That might be the only state she has a chance at actually giving a "victory speech" Meanwhile Bernie will have a few to choose from on super Tuesday :pachaha:
Bernie has spent 3x longer in the "establishment" than Warren

This could be like Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannety circa 1987 :wow:
That doesn't end well for one of the parties involved :whoa:

Bernie Sanders' disastrous answer on '60 Minutes' - CNNPolitics

Cooper: Do you know how all -- how much though? I mean, do you have a price tag for -- for all of this?
Sanders: We do. I mean, you know, and -- and-- the price tag is -- it will be substantially less than letting the current system go. I think it's about $30 trillion.
Cooper: That's just for "Medicare for All," you're talking about?
Sanders: That's just "Medicare for All," yes.
Cooper: Do you have -- a price tag for all of these things?
Sanders: No, I don't. We try to -- no, you mentioned making public colleges and universities tuition free and canceling all student debt, that's correct. That's what I want to do. We pay for that through a modest tax on Wall Street speculation.
Cooper: But you say you don't know what the total price is, but you know how it's gonna be paid for. How do you know it's gonna be paid for if you don't know how much the price is?
Sanders: Well, I can't -- you know, I can't rattle off to you every nickel and every dime. But we have accounted for -- you -- you talked about "Medicare for All." We have options out there that will pay for it.

Correct, people forget how many catastrophes happened during Bush and Obama ran as a populist who was criticizing Hillary for being on the board of Wal-Mart.

With 2008 you had a decade of Katrina, Iraq, and the housing bubble, and a bad job market. You also had the right wing cultural war being fought against. Trump has been an ass but most people haven’t felt the pain of his decisions. The strength of the economy is making people complacent (even though a recession is sure to come).

If Bernie comes right out and says he's gonna pay for it by taxing the rich and getting rid of all these bullshyt tax cuts for coporations and the rich, they will come for him early.

He's trying to get the people to realize...hey...how come we always have money for war and tax cuts but not for tangible things that will make our lives better???

And me writing in my name is voting against both so :manny:

12% of Bernie supporters during the primary voted for Trump. That’s been documented and reported

Is that over or under the history margin of registered voters in a primary voting for the opposite parties candidate in the general? A link as well would be appreciated

25% of HRC supporters during the 2008 primary voted for McCain. That’s been documented and reported

:mjlit:
Can yall point me to this datapoint, because yall keep reporting the wrong # as the actual vote

After Clinton's June 8 concession, 40% of women who supported Clinton described themselves as dissatisfied and 7% described themselves as angry; 25% said they would support McCain in November

According to exit polls on Election Day, McCain won the votes of only 10% of Democrats nationwide,
looks like post drop out anger was a bluff vs. what actually happened...

I work amongst wealthy liberals...and theyre disgusted by Bernie. They're educated people who are genuinely arguing that Bloomberg did well in the debate.
