Bernie Sanders' disastrous answer on '60 Minutes' - CNNPolitics

Cooper: Do you know how all -- how much though? I mean, do you have a price tag for -- for all of this?
Sanders: We do. I mean, you know, and -- and-- the price tag is -- it will be substantially less than letting the current system go. I think it's about $30 trillion.
Cooper: That's just for "Medicare for All," you're talking about?
Sanders: That's just "Medicare for All," yes.
Cooper: Do you have -- a price tag for all of these things?
Sanders: No, I don't. We try to -- no, you mentioned making public colleges and universities tuition free and canceling all student debt, that's correct. That's what I want to do. We pay for that through a modest tax on Wall Street speculation.
Cooper: But you say you don't know what the total price is, but you know how it's gonna be paid for. How do you know it's gonna be paid for if you don't know how much the price is?
Sanders: Well, I can't -- you know, I can't rattle off to you every nickel and every dime. But we have accounted for -- you -- you talked about "Medicare for All." We have options out there that will pay for it.

why do yall detest cubans so much? of course they vote conservative, they (the older ones) had to flee a left regime aimed at stripping them of personal possessions, it's quite understandable for them to not trust left economic policy (the immigrants currently coming here from central and south america as well). we see the same thing, although opposite, with jews - having seen facisim at work, they tend to vote more liberal
So why don’t other groups who left repressive regimes vote that way now? The Vietnamese used to do that but not anymore. Neither do the Chinese.
Many Cubans, and most older Cubans, perceive themselves as better than other people of color and often times explicitly identify as white. Trump’s racism does not bother older Cubans because they are racist themselves. I dated a Cuban woman from Miami for years and half her family was racist. In the most recent elections, most Cuban respondents said Cuba didn’t effect their vote and they still voted Republican. The fact is, Cubans see themselves as the white people of Latinos and everyone knows that.

The people you see shytting on them experienced some sort of racism interaction. You are right on younger Cubans being more liberal but that is true of everyone.

the older ones (vietnamese, etc) do...jews are also a group whose socio-political circumstances elsewhere shaped their voting here.

and cuban racism/views re: other latinos is one thing, but people are here shytting on them for their voting habits, which makes complete sense given what they experienced. younger cubans are skewing left (same shift as what happened with the asian groups you mentioned), so again, the hate for the way older cubans vote is silly.

edit: and if we're playing the group racism game, well we're currently all in here backing and discussing white candidates...the group who has been most racist to us. so yes, let's not make it a be mad at racism game

If Bernie comes right out and says he's gonna pay for it by taxing the rich and getting rid of all these bullshyt tax cuts for coporations and the rich, they will come for him early.

He's trying to get the people to realize...hey...how come we always have money for war and tax cuts but not for tangible things that will make our lives better???
:comeon: he doesnt have the fukkin money. im all for taxing the rich, but it doesnt cover what bernie is talking about

the government could go rob jeff bezos right now of his 100 billion dollars, and you know what we get out of that? a one-time check for every american for 300 dollars :heh:

Yeah. I worked with a handful of Ecuadorians and Colombians.

They are all Latinos but they have internal beefs that most people won’t know cause they don’t let it on as much in mixed groups.

Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and Mexicans got the most beef cause of how they act towards Central Americans and South Americans in relation to status in America.

One of my friends told me he hates listening to PR and Cuban Spanish cause it’s so nasty sounding(it’s been infused with English)

100 billion dollars is literally 1% of the amount of money we've spent on wars since 2001. It's not even 10% of the annual US discretionary budget.

The fact that you're even talking about billions with a B shows that you have no idea what we're even talking about right now.

I work amongst wealthy liberals...and theyre disgusted by Bernie. They're educated people who are genuinely arguing that Bloomberg did well in the debate.

Tell them to stop detesting their poor counterparts that live in the same country as them. They hate paying their share of taxe like that? :dahell:

I get some of the legitimate criticism of Bernard but honestly the vast majority of it is so disingenuous. And the whole "I've been arguing with Bernie Bros....", that was your first mistake, engaging anyone who throws away logic and reasoning as if anything you could say would change their opinions. Will someone other than Nap who is strongly opposed to Bernard hit me with some of the lesser repeated talking points of how he's essentially the anti-christ awaiting to unleash the four-horsemen on the world? I'm really trying to understand why some people are ready to throw themselves off a bridge because of an actual politician may become president while they gave a low IQ reality star the benefit of the doubt after he strong armed his party into giving him their nomination.

He's not my first choice but I feel like a lot of Warren's positions will find their way into his overall platform/administration which I can deal with if I can't have her as the nominee. Everyone else is immediately dropping anything progressive into the socialist bucket and the last thing we need after screaming for years now about removing the money in politics is to put an actual Billionaire in office. At this point, I'm looking forward to a progressive democrat/socialist or Martian being in the WH versus who's there today.
