Early rap predictions:

Voters really went with the critical choices for the most part and I can't knock it because for the most part, last year up to now has been MID. That being said, Best Rap Performance just feels like there's something missing. Even Coi Leray's nomination I get.

Best Rap Song, different story. If fukkING AQUA wins a BEST RAP SONG Grammy, fukk! At this point, let Killer Mike get a couple of Grammy and get teary eyed as he thanks Bernie Sanders.

A little surprised Nas didn't get a Best Rap Song of some sort, but don't worry Quentin Miller. One day.

Best Rap Album I think was the best batch of nominees.

I'm gonna say it now: I think Nas wins it again just off Process of Elimination.

Drake got nominated but if they can curve the Weekend over doing the Superbowl, they won't give more Grammys to a guy who uses them as door stops.

Metro and Travis kinda cancel each other out.

So it's either the critical darling Nas or the critical darling Killer Mike, I think they rock with the veteran fresh off Hip Hop 50.

I don't feel sorry for this dude, but this is crazy

He should have been nominated for AOTY category tbh.

At least the Grammy's didn't do him as bad as his own genre's award show did a few days ago.

He's just going to have to settle for selling out shows and charting albums, but without the recognition for it especially since this recent one could be considered his Magnum Opus.

Oh well :manny:

SZA is in position to do whatever she wants. She def proved me wrong by completing her tour without incident, did all the behind-the-scenes interview/access stuff that leads to awards, and has been steady. I respect it. Wasn't a big fan of that album but it definitely has standout tracks. I probably hear Snooze every day due to my girlfriend.

Rap album list is interesting. My immediate inclination is that Travis wins. But it might as well be a four album contest, because Her Loss is NOT winning. It's my favorite album out of those but the Drake/Grammy relationship is severed and the negative press that album got over alleged misogyny will play a role. Looking at the other albums beyond Travis and Drake/21: Nas is the previous winning vet which puts him in real contention. Metro is a great dark horse with a good album that sold very very well. Wasn't into Killer Mike's album but can see it appealing to voters too. He's been campaigning for this.
