He's just going to have to settle for selling out shows and charting albums, but without the recognition for it especially since this recent one could be considered his Magnum Opus.

Oh well
The funny thing is some of his fans have said this last album ain't even his MO, it was the last album that was really good. He just fukked up the trajectory critics wise with that n word debacle.
SZA is in position to do whatever she wants. She def proved me wrong by completing her tour without incident, did all the behind-the-scenes interview/access stuff that leads to awards, and has been steady. I respect it. Wasn't a big fan of that album but it definitely has standout tracks. I probably hear Snooze every day due to my girlfriend.
Yea it's definitely great to see her get recognized. I'm not a fan of SZA's music like that but her album had cultural relevance, critical praise as well as commercial success, she should be a shoo-in for at least a couple of wins with 1 of them being in the big 5.

how THE FUKK is sza nominated in every rnb category and other categories and best overall album .....but not best rnb album :dead:

bet yeah i called sza for best album a while back so we half way there.... lets go baby!

She’s nominated in Best Progressive R&B Album. That category is for R&B albums that infuse elements of Pop, Rap, and other genres. She scored a solo Best Melodic Rap Performance nom so there was no way she’d be slotted as just traditional R&B for the album.

Gunna was robbed

I’m surprised people actually thought he would get a nomination given all the bad publicity stemming from the “snitching” allegations. It seems the rap industry is still supporting Thugga heavy despite the success of the album its still following Gunna.

If Drake hadn’t submitted Her Loss then Gunna would have probably had a chance but they had to keep two slots for “Mainstream” albums and Drake and Travis are pretty undeniable right now.

I swear the Grammy committee only listened to 3 Rap & R&B albums this year.

:heh:

SOS, Jaguar II and Her Loss were alright, but are super over represented here.

Grammys is traditionally a popularity contest. Every now and then you might get a Jon Baptiste or a Beck that pull an upset but the majority of the time the biggest selling artists/albums are going to dominate unless there’s scandal attached to them. Morgan Wallen had the biggest selling album of the year and got zero noms because he’s a racist piece of shyt who got CAUGHT saying some racist piece of filth shyt and now he’s shadow banned even though he’s damn near doing modern day Thriller numbers

she should have been in both. this is some shyt they just made up so it's not like it's impossible :mjlol: and it's not "just traditional rnb"... it's "rnb" period.

like how you sweeping categories other than what you supposed to be in? make it make sense.

I know the "streets" gave Gunna a hard time with the snitching talks but he dropped a fantastic album, did well on the Billboard charts with 'fukumean', and one of the few young hip-hop acts that can successfully tour.

I dont know who actually votes on the grammy committee tho

Well technically an album can’t be submitted in both categories because they were made to be distinctive. SZA is more than likely going to dominate the night anyway I don’t think its a question of if she will win her genre categories (most likely she’ll sweep) but if she actually has a fighting chance of winning any general field categories.

IF she beats out Taylor Swift for Album Of The Year, something not even Kendrick Lamar could accomplish, then SZA will immediately become the hottest black artist on the planet. The biggest since The Weeknd
