That’s why I hate the lottery, punishes the pistons even more
Blame that organization for being terrible at drafting and player development. You can hit on picks even if it isn't at the top of the draft. They can't even do that or develop players into proper role players.

Giving them the #1 pick would be rewarding them for the ineptitude.

Weirdly Weaver has not drafted a bust outside of Killian Hayes. He’s just terrible at roster construction. The players just don’t complement each other at all

because BPA doesn't always work. You have to build a team and sometimes that means either passing up a better player to draft a better complimentary guy OR making tough decisions, which Weaver doesn't wanna do.

If there's another SG at 5 that they like, then they have to make a decision instead of thinking it'll work itself out.

That's not the problem, by blowing it up you're essentially benefitting the Spurs and the upcoming picks and swaps that they have.

Look at what just happened with the Nets for an example of that.

No, you trade someone to get some picks back. That has nothing to do with what we owe the Spurs. Those would be new picks.

Where did people even get this notion from that this draft is weak?

These players we have never seen play in the nba are projected to not be very good 5 years from now when half the coaches and gm's will be on other teams and 25 % of the league will have been traded for or signed to another team. :pachaha:

Exactly pistons have had the same opportunity to draft as Orlando Houston and OKC. Theyre jsut not hitting as strongly on their selections and roster transactions.
