Progressives are gaining ground but they're not magic wands. They're trying to fix problems years to decades in the making with entrenchment along with constant sabotage from within their own party. You can’t expect a full turnaround in one election cycle while neoliberals still controlling a ton of the machine; which is what Mamdani will run up against.
It won't solve NYC's issue, but its a start... and a pathway.
